The Gallant Cadres of National Democratic Congress, NDC, has taken a swipe at the Department of Political science of University of Ghana for the latter’s recent scientific survey predicting 51.7 per cent for President Akuffo Addo as possible winner of 2020 Presidential elections.
The Chairman of Pressure Group, Mr Richard Ashley who seemingly expressed his displeasure at the Researchers’ pre elections polls which placed NDC candidate, John Dramani Mahama on the second place with 40. 4, described University of Ghana as a poodle of NPP.
” It is sad University of Ghana has gradually become a poodle of the NPP ,and has grossly deviated from its institutional core mandates.

Gallant Cadres of NDC cautioned that the university of Ghana could channel its resources into something profitable to the university and Ghana as a whole.
Mr Richard Ashley made this statement in a Press release issued and copied to the media to react to a Survey by the political science department of the university of Ghana which predicted what they called a questionable 51.7 ℅ victory for the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo in the 7th December elections.
He was of the belief that every well meaning Ghanaian would disregard the polls conducted by the political science department of the University of Ghana.
He alleged that the research was based on only two regions without the inclusion of the other fourteen regions .
“The research lacks credibility and must be disregarded with all the content it deserves.”, he argued
It will be recalled that A senior lecturer at the University of Ghana’s Political Science Department, Alex Kaakyire Duku Frempong in leading the presentation predicted a 51.7% victory for the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the upcoming general elections.
According to the political Science department, the flagbearer of National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama is expected to follow with 40.4% of the votes cast.
The candidate of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Christian Kwabena Andrews, placed third in the survey with 1. 3 per cent
According to the UG Political Science Department, they sampled 11,000 respondents nationwide for the survey.
The researchers say 80% of the respondents said they will vote based on the campaign message.
To the researchers, out of the number, 52.5% said they were going to vote for Nana Akufo-Addo, while 40. 9% said they were also going to vote for John Mahama.
