There was a drama at the Supreme Court when the house was thrown into laughter after the Chief Justice, Justice Anin-Yeboah, in a jovial manner reminded counsel for the 2nd Respondent, Akoto Ampaw, to part-with his wig since it has lost its identity.
In what was apparently considered as jovial advice to the counsel for the 2nd Respondent, who had done with his submission at that particular moment, opposing a motion by the petitioner to reopen his page, the Chief Justice used that moment to prompt him.
“Mr. Akoto Ampaw, I think you have to change your wig, it has lost its identity as a wig,” he stated in a lighter note.
In response to the Chief Justice’s demand on him, Mr. Ampaw removed the wig from his head, gazed at it and put it back on his head and then took time to respond to the Chief Justice.
“My Lord, it gives it a unique identity”, he answered.
By this response the court was exploded with a fleeting laughter.
