The rectangular-shaped parcels were discovered inside sacks labeled with the inscription “70.”
Superintendent Courage Amegbe, Commander of the Operation Calm Life Patrol Team in the Nyive Sector, addressed the press, revealing that the team intercepted the contraband around 10:30 PM on Friday, May 5th, while conducting night duties along an unauthorized route.
According to Superintendent Amegbe, the officers stumbled upon the sacks in the bushes when they reached Cave, an unauthorized route along the Shia and Nyive border.
Superintendent Amegbe explained that the 12 sacks containing the illicit substance were subsequently transported to the primary border post in Nyive.
He further mentioned that a group of officials from the Narcotics Control Commission in Ho were summoned to take custody of the seized consignment at the border post.
Superintendent Amegbe strongly urged the public to refrain from engaging in the use and trade of illegal goods.
He also called upon citizens to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of these defiant members of society.”
