In a bid to empower Ghanaian youth with essential skills for the digital economy, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s 2024 flag-bearer, has announced a large-scale digital skills training program. This initiative aims to provide digital training for approximately 5,000 young people from the Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency, boosting their employability and preparing them for roles in the technology sector.
Speaking at a mini rally in Abuakwa during his campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of equipping the next generation with skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. “We want our youth to not only participate but lead in the digital economy,” he declared. “This training will open doors, creating real opportunities in the tech industry that will elevate their living standards.”
Reflecting on his term as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia noted his collaboration with the President to roll out over 33 policies aimed at advancing Ghana’s digital infrastructure. “Our government has laid a strong foundation on the digital and technological highway,” he stated, underscoring the role of innovation in Ghana’s future economic growth.
Dr. Bawumia also outlined his vision for a technology-driven Ghana, aiming to leverage digital tools across sectors, including governance, education, healthcare, and the economy. “Technology must serve all Ghanaians,” he said. “It’s the pathway to achieving inclusivity in every sphere and ensuring Ghana can compete globally in the fourth industrial revolution.”
He urged the people of Atwima Nwabiagya South to support the NPP’s continued initiatives, emphasizing the impact these programs have had on local livelihoods. “A vote for the NPP is a vote for sustained development,” he added.
Madam Shirley Tiwaa Kyei, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency, also addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for the strong support shown for Dr. Bawumia. “We have always been able to count on you,” she told the crowd, calling on them to maintain their unwavering loyalty to the party at the polls. She highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s “visionary, unifying, and competent leadership,” urging constituents to support his agenda for a better Ghana.
