The founder and General Overseer of the United Denominations calved from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC), Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of his 31-year-old son , David Heward-Mills.
Delivering sermon to his congregation on Sunday under a topic titled , ‘The grave isn’t the end’, the renowned evangelist, while focusing on the passing of his child, noticed that it has made a “funny environment.”
“My son David just died. It ruins everything. You ask me am I miserable? Assuming that you had a child who kicked the bucket, will you be miserable? You ought to pose yourself that question. It [death] ruins everything. It brings an funny environment and it makes nonsense of everything. We generally attempt to wish it endlessly further away however that is the way things are.”
The sudden death of Dr. David Heward-Mills happened on Easter Friday in the United States after in a matter of seconds becoming sick.
His death was disclosed in a circular issued to members of the church .
“It is with profound regret and great sorrow that we report the sudden death of David Heward-Mills, after a short illness. David was the first son of our Founder and Presiding Bishop.”
“We, likewise as a congregation, are shattered, nonetheless, we stand with our leader and his family and believe that God will comfort and see us through this truly challenging times.
“Please respect their privicy during this troublesome time. Funeral arrangement will be conveyed at the appropriate time,” the circular said.
David worked as an resident doctor at Prisma Health, Columbia, for close to two years in the United States of America.
He was a Research Physician at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston.
