The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged the populace to oppose any attempt to turn around to tyrant system in the governance of the country.
He expressed instead of permitting the country to retrogress, it would inure to the advantage of all assuming Ghanaians will “reestablish trust in our democratic governance and remember consistently the frequently refered to explanation, that the cost of freedom is everlasting vigilance.”
Delivering his address at the country’s 30th Anniversary of the referendum endorsing the 1992 Constitution, he stated that democratic governance has been significant in all spheres of the nation’s economy and has along these lines been envied by many people, and consequently should be safeguarded.

There has been extensive improvement in human development index . Basically, democratic governace has been great as far as we’re concerned.”
President Akufo-Addo demonstrated that there are people among the populace who might need to see the nation backslide in its quest to advance and support the democratic governance in light of multiple factors which should be checked.
“… There are some who for their own parochial and narrow minded interests would need to see a re-visitation of the dark days of dictator rule just in light of the fact that with no regard for the Ghanaian people , they are either reluctant to expose themselves or their visions to the open scrutiny of the Ghanaian people or in light of the fact that they realize they will be dismissed by Ghanaians and hence look for an alternate way to office or power.”
Allow us to reinforce our determination to oppose such people for our common good” he asked.
