John Dramani Mahama has been inaugurated as the President of the Republic of Ghana, commencing his second term in office after a decisive win in the 2024 general elections.
The momentous swearing-in ceremony occurred on January 7, 2025, at the renowned Black Star Square in Accra. It attracted a massive crowd of citizens, dignitaries, and political figures who gathered to celebrate this pivotal occasion in Ghana’s democratic history.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader, President Mahama, took his oath of office, administered by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, vowing to serve the nation with dedication and to uphold its Constitution. “I solemnly swear to commit myself wholly to the welfare of the people of Ghana,” he declared during his speech.
