The Chairperson of Electoral Commission , Mrs Jean Mensah who doubles as the returning official presidential Elections has pronounced the incumbent President and Flagbeaer of New Patriotic Party, NPP ,Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the winner and President Elect of republic of Ghana in 2020 Presidential races.
The Electoral Commission of Ghana announced the results on Wednesday with the NPP Flagbeaer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo beating the Flagbeaer of National Democratic Congress, NDC by securing 6,730, 413 votes representing 51.595%.
“By the power vested in me as the chair person
of the commission and the returning official for the presidential Elections, it is my obligation and my previlege to announce Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the duly elected president of the Republic of Ghana,” EC Chairperson Mrs Jean Mensah pronounced.
Mr John Dramani Mahama of NDC secured 6,214,887 votes making 47.366% of substantial votes cast.
Christian Kwabena Andrews of Ghana Union Movement secured the third position with 105,565 votes representing to 0.805 %
These outcomes, as per the EC, excludes Techiman South constituency with results not prepared because of late assemblage and protests raised. The constituency recorded an absolute 128,18 votes.
The all out register Voters for the political race was 13,434,574 representing to79.%
